Christmas Means Mom has a Berghoff Dark Beer

For the past 15 years my mom and I have been coming down to Berghoff's for a Christmas luncheon. This always seems to start out our holiday season - the first week of December. This is the only time mom will have a beer -- the Berghoff Dark Draft. Honestly -- she never drinks beer but loves the Dark Draft that I insisted she try the first time she went. We ride the train in to the city -- thinking of what we will eat. We try to be in line at ll:00 am when you open to get a table before the workday rush. Then off to Christmas shopping on State Street when we have finished our suptuous lunch -- make ours Sauerbraten please with a stein of Berghoff Dark Draft. My mom is now 81 and we will be going again to the city as usual this week, keeping our tradition going since you have reopened! Happy Holidays to you and yours. Sue Kvasnicka and Olive Anderson

I saw your tradition over the holidays and it reminded me what the holidays are truly about. I love seeing multiple generations around one table, especially enjoying Berghoff classics! Hope you and your Mom enjoyed your tradition. Be sure to say hello in 2011.
