I saw you on Windy City Live last week and was interested in your Gluten-Free mashed potatoes. I also know someone with Celiac. I went to their web site and the recipe didn't look right. I watched the video of your segment and you talked about using almond milk and chicken stock. The recipe posted on the same page says to use milk and/or cream, without even saying an amount. I also did not find the recipe on your site. Could you send it to me, or post it on your site, or get WCL to correct what they posted? I would be very grateful. Thank you for your help and Happy New Year.

Hi Carlyn! Thank you for getting back to me on the rouladen last month! Also, it was a pleasure meeting you after lunch at The Berghoff Restaurant the day after Thanksgiving. Since you and the restaurant took part of the 'center stage' in this year's Christmas letter, which was mailed to 300 people, mostly USA, but also 6 other countries as well as posted to Facebook, I thought you might enjoy a copy. http://greghaas.com/files/227151/HAPPYHOLIDAYS2011.pdf Thank you also for posting the recipe! I phoned my butcher today and will be picking up the meat tomorrow! Guess what we're having for dinner tomorrow?! I look forward to my next trip to Chicago ...and you can count on my giving you 2 weeks advance notice so you can plan for rouladen on the menu! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours! Greg Haas :-)

Carlyn, My wife has celiac disease, so it was interesting to hear you talk about celiac cooki ng yesterday on the WGN noon news show. Prior to being diagnosed in 2007, we went to The Berghoff on a regular basis. She always had your weiner schnitzel, but she couldn't any longer. After she was diagnosed, going out anywhere to eat became an issue due to all of the gluten in so many products. It is so great that you are incorporating more gluten-free items on your menu. We are looking forward to the publication of your gluten-free cookbook. When is it expected to be out?

Carlyn, I am 3rd generation growing up on The Berghoff. I buried my grandfather who started this tradition with a Berghoff mug. I was under the impression that the restauarnt was closed as I knew it. After 37 years of celebrating Christmas here with family it seems it may be possible again? I went to the extreme of using your cookbook to replicate a Berghoff dinner for the family last year. It has always had such a place in our heart when Christmas rolls around. Nothing would be better than to be there again. Warmest Regards, Tom Becvar
