Mom’s Guide To Grilling For Father’s Day Tips For Grilling That Will Even Impress Dad There is nothing more manly than a perfectly grilled steak for a Father’s Day meal. This year, impress dad with the grilling skills of a pro. Grilling for Father’s Day does not have to be a stressful event, as there are a few simple things to keep in mind that will help you to create the perfectly grilled steak. The Thicker The Better: When purchasing steak, be aware of the thickness. The best steaks are at least 1 to 1 ½ inches thick. Watch for marbling as well. Remember, the more marbling, the more flavor. Don’t Poke The Steak: This is one of the most important things to remember. Sticking a fork or thermometer in the steak will cause the meat to leak the juices that make it so moist and flavorful. Poking will only cause the steak to dry out. Don’t Keep Turning: Avoid turning your steaks over too many times, this will prevent searing. Once you put your steak on the grill, leave it alone for at least five minutes, then flip over. This will ensure that each side has been cooked the same amount of time and seared on both sides. The Grill Can Be Used For Other Things Besides Steak: Grilling sides, veggies and fruits are another great way to add that charcoal flavor. Asparagus and pineapple are great on the grill. Also, corn on the cob and potatoes are great side dishes that complement steak and can easily be thrown on the grill as well.
