It’s engagement season.  Some people love it, others are annoyed by it.  None the less, it’s everywhere you look – posts on Facebook, cheesy jeweler commercials, and Valentine’s specials all around.

It just so happens around here we love it, especially on our catering side.  And funny you should ask – what’s one of my favorite parts of planning a wedding that’s often of the last decided details? THE WEDDING CAKE!  It’s one of the many things that sets Berghoff Catering apart from all other caterers – we also provide the cake.  We are fortunate enough to not only have our own in-house pastry chef, but an amazingly talented one at that, Mr. Chon Reynozo.

Chon is a master pastry artist and never seizes to amaze me with his creations.  We work with our bride and grooms to design the cake of their dreams.  Plus, it’s one of those things that the grooms like to actually get involved in – at least the tasting part of it.  From traditional to modern, and everything in between we make it happen and let the cake be the star (after the bride and groom of course) of the night.

I always tell couples to have fun, be their own cake architect, and leave the rest up to us.  Guests never forget those memorable cakes and pictures last forever!  Check out just a few of Chon’s wedding stopping creations below and stay tuned as I dive into the trend of sweets tables next time.
